Current Life:

I am an Evangelist in disguise! During the day, I am self-employed in a small family business - but in reality the work I love the most is sharing Jesus! I am member of the Gideons International Canada, and this is where I found my calling. As my love for others and for God’s Word grew, I dreamed of telling more people about His goodness, and so “Love Distribution" began - as a Bible Street Evangelism Ministry with the objective of bringing excitement to obtaining your 1st Bible and having a relationship with Jesus. At Love Distribution, we gift wrap small New Testaments from the Gideons, and inside the little gift we include a chocolate, a devotional, and a list of nearby ministries.  We hug people, pray for them and try to show them God’s love.  I bring these free Bibles everywhere I go, so I can continue to tell everyone how much they are loved!

Credentials:

I have been on two Missions trips, to Brazil and Nicaragua. Served for Alpha for 2 years. Participated in The Valley Radio Online Christian Radio Programming for 1 year. Have been a Gideons member since 2015, and am currently the BC Coordinator for the Gideons Youth ministry, called “SendMe”. My job is to encourage and engage the young Adults and teens, to equip them with the Word of God and the resources to have Jesus in their lives, and then inspire them to share Jesus with their friends, too.

I became a Christian when...

My salvation encounter happened thanks to a friend from high school. She prayed for me and to my surprise, the Lord answered and made every part of her prayer request for me come to pass.  In my amazement that her God listened and actually responded, I asked her to take me to her church, so I could know where she found this God who answers.  She gave me my first Bible and took me to Alpha.  I attended Alpha about 10 times, got baptized and have since been passionate about God and telling every person I can about Him. His grace was so big in my life, that it’s the reason why I love sharing the Good News every way I can.

A few of my favorite things...

I love to be part of a team, especially to serve in ministry. I love all things healthy; good food, sports, and praise music. Plus chocolate and all things cake and yummy!

What I would say to my teenage self:

“You are not alone, and have nothing to fear.  Even if you have not seen God with your natural eyes yet, He really is right there with you and will continue to be there through it all.”

“He has a plan for you, and even though you will have a long journey, He truly has a plan for your life. He has given you all those visions and dreams for a reason. And all those dorky things about you, He loves those - and He made you that way for a purpose”.

“He understands your weakness and struggles. You do not need to walk in shame.  He is going to answer very soon... keep walking confidently and believe in yourself.”

A Bible verse I love:

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Psalm 139:13-16

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

I grew up not knowing that I could have a relationship with God, or knowing that I could call him “Dad”.  And because my relationship with my natural dad was not very good, I can relate to a lot of the questions and insecurities someone who grew up without a Father might have.  These verses have really helped me understand that no matter what things may look like, God has plan for each of us, He made us and really loves us. We have a true Father who thinks we are WONDERFUL.
