I became a Christian when…

I was 26 years old. Leaving home at an early age, I was thrown into survival mode building strong walls around me; giving away far more of my heart, mind, emotions, than I knew was right. Walking through some extremely difficult times, (or I should say consequences for my actions) Being broken and alone, when God finally got a hold of my heart and I made the decision to surrender my life completely to Him, I was truly in awe of what happened.  Never had I thought of God as a friend, and never have I experienced such grace, beauty and devotion as when God became the centre of my life.  God allowed me to be truly whole again. Life is a journey with Him and God continually surprises me.  I am but grateful to a God who loves the lost and broken and turns us into beautiful vessels.

A few of my favourite things...

I love to pray and worship (although I cannot sing), coffee, a good book by the lake. Spending time with my family and friends rejuvenates me, and I love spontaneous car trips when you never know where you are going to end up.

What I would say to my teenage self:

“Stand Strong - You are so valued”

1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

"Your beauty is deep within your soul; you are someone so incredibly precious to God.  He has enabled you to do great things and has an amazing plan and purpose for your life! It can be a tough world to stand strong in Christ."

A Bible verse I love:

Thessalonians 2:16-17

"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."

Hebrews 11:1

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”
