I became a Christian when...
I was 13 years old. I remember it was 3 days before Christmas and in my naive yet knowing heart, I asked my dad if we could sit around the living room by the christmas tree and invite Jesus into my life. My dad, mom and Grandma were there. We prayed about it and my dad gave me my first personal Bible. This was a huge turning point in my life because up until that point, I had no reliance on anything to give me the strength I was so desiring. During this time, I was being severely bullied and I knew that I needed more than just those around me. Yes, they were all extremely loving and supportive but something was lacking and that was the presence of God in my life. From that point, I knew I had what my heart was aching for. And even though I fell away at times, that love was always there and created in me a passion and unending love that will never leave me.
A few of my favourite things...
Pho, Autumn, coffee, kids.
What I would say to my teenage self:
"You're doing great Sarah. Keep pushing through and finding peace and strength in Jesus."
A Bible verse I love:
"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence"
